HOW CAN I BE SURE MY SWIMSUIT IS SUSTAINABLE?
Sustainability is a word that is thrown around a lot these days. And although we’re so glad that it’s gaining momentum (hoorah!), we are conscious that sometimes it’s used with the wrong intentions, or without the proper checks put in place.
Our mission at aava swim is to create swimwear that is actually sustainable and ethical, from the fabrics that we use, to our recyclable packaging as well as the working conditions in our factories that far exceed standardized expectations.
So that you can hold us to our word, we strive to be transparent about our products, packaging and production and continually check in on our suppliers as well. Our team has put together stringent guidelines and expectations for choosing supply partners, and we work very closely with those suppliers to continually check in that they work according to our values. WHAT EXACTLY IS MY SWIMSUIT MADE OUT OF?
Our swimsuits are made from a sustainable techno-fabric made from 78% recycled polyamide materials with 22% Elastane, which helps provide the typical swimsuit stretch.
The recycling process sees old fishing nets, discarded plastic bottles, and even fabric scraps melted down into small chips before being turned into yarns. These yarns are then spun into material by our recycled fabric supplier located in Italy. You can find out more about our ongoing quest to be sustainable here: Our Mission
HOW SHOULD I LOOK AFTER MY SWIMSUIT?
Looking after your aava swim swimsuit is essential but thankfully not difficult. Find out how to look after your swimsuit in 3 simple steps:
1 - Rinse: Once you've had your swim, rinse your swimsuit in cool water, ideally for around 30 minutes. This will help to take off any oil, sunscreen, salt or sand that can potentially be damaging for the fabric over time. Also, don’t forget that chlorine from swimming pools can be pretty tough on swimsuits if not rinsed off.
2 - Drain & Refill: Drain the water and refill with cool water again, adding a gentle liquid detergent or even a small amount of shampoo - a great tip for when you’re on holiday - you can thank us later!
3 - Air dry: Rinse the swimsuit again to get any bubbles out, gently squeeze the fabric and then air dry inside out, out of direct sunlight.
HOW SHOULD I TRY ON MY SWIMSUIT AND ENSURE IT FITS WELL?
After you’ve jumped for joy at the sight of your package arriving, it will be time to try your swimsuit on. When trying on your suit, we ask that you please wear underwear and also keep the hygiene tag in place. Of course, as soon as you’ve decided you want to keep your suit, you can do with it as you please!
You'll know that your swimsuit is the perfect match if it's tight-fitting but with room to breathe and move around comfortably, and please also bear in mind that there will be a slight stretch in the water.

HOW DO I APPLY MY DISCOUNT CODE OR GIFT CARD?
You have a discount code or gift card you say? Well, it’s your lucky day! You can enter your discount code alongside your email address at checkout.
. Only one discount code can be used per order.
. Out of date discount codes cannot be redeemed.
. Discount codes cannot be exchanged for cash.
I'M interested in buying swimsuits for a BIG group, would it be possible to receive a discount?
If you don't ask, you don't get - as they say. Whether you're shopping for team swimsuits, or you're wanting (more like really needing) matching suits for that bachelorette party you're organising - just send us an email at email@example.com and we'll see what we can do!
CAN I CHANGE MY ORDER AFTER I'VE PLACED IT?
Oops! But don’t worry, we’ve all been there! Send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and explain what’s gone wrong, and we’ll do our absolute best to make the alterations to your order. Help our Customer Experience sisters out and put 'ORDER CHANGE' in your email so they can locate your email request ASAP!
Please do note, as we try to fulfill our orders as speedy as possible, we’re unable to guarantee changes to orders once they’ve been placed. But - don’t panic - if we don't manage to catch your order as it heads out the door there’s always the possibility of making a return or an exchange when the order does arrive! And you never know - maybe it is written in the stars and you will end up loving your accidental order!
How do I cancel an order?
To cancel your order please send our team an email as soon as possible to email@example.com. Putting ‘CANCELLATION REQUEST’ in the subject line helps us to find and resolve these requests as quickly as possible. As we try to ship our orders in a timely manner (1-2 business days), we cannot guarantee your cancellation will be possible. But, there’s always the possibility of a return, or maybe you’ll actually really love your new swimsuit and decide fate was in your favour!
I HAVE AN ISSUE WITH MY PRODUCT - WHAT CAN I DO?
First of all, we’re so sorry! ♥ As we take care to hand check each item throughout the production process, and before packaging them up for send out, this would be an extremely rare situation. If this does occur and your swimwear is faulty or incorrectly packaged then please do get in touch with us at firstname.lastname@example.org explain the fault, share a picture and we will resolve the problem straight away.
DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?
We are happy to let you know YES we do ship internationally! We pass a small fraction of the shipping cost onto our customers which will be calculated at checkout. WHERE'S MY TRACKING INFORMATION?
There's a few ways to check the status of your order:
1 - Confirmation email: As soon as your order has shipped, you’ll receive a shipping confirmation including a tracking link to your registered email, where you’ll be able to check on the status of your order as it makes its way to you! If you haven’t received your tracking information please be sure to double-check your junk mail for the automatic tracking email.
2 - Customer Account: Log onto the ‘my account’ section of the aava swim website and selecting ‘tracking.’ Once you've logged in you can trace and track your order as it makes its way to you!
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE AND HOW MUCH WILL IT COST TO RECEIVE MY SWIMSUIT?
First of all, we're super happy to let you know we ship worldwide!
We fulfill and prep all packages ready for send out within 1-2 business days, and then they’ll be on their way to you where in the world you may be located!
Our American friends will receive their swimsuits in 1-4 days depending where in the country you're living, and our internationally located sisters will get their goodies between 5-21 days depending on which corner of the globe you're residing.

WILL I HAVE TO PAY DUTIES & TAXES ON MY INTERNATIONAL ORDER?
Please be aware that packages may be subject to delays and/or additional taxes and duties when shipped to international countries outside of the United States.
Taxes and duties will be calculated per your shipping country, and while we take every effort to ensure a quick and smooth delivery, we do not take responsibility for delays and/or extra fees which may be applied via customs and duty offices in the receiving country.
WHERE IS MY ORDER SHIPPING FROM?
We operate out of two warehouses and ship our swimsuits from the warehouse nearest to you to ensure smooth delivery, as well as minimise environmental impacts of sending swimsuits around the world.
For the gals located in the USA, Canada, Mexico and Australia your swimsuits are shipping out from our warehouse in Houston, Texas, USA.
For those of you in Europe, or elsewhere in the world we ship these items from Germany.
Both of our warehouses operate each business days (excluding bank holidays and festivals in each location) and orders are packaged up and shipped out each business day.
returns & exchanges
WHAT IS YOUR RETURN AND EXCHANGE POLICY?
Returns and exchanges can be made within 14 days from the date of delivery. All returned and exchanged suits must be in the original packaging in an unworn condition with all tags and hygiene liners intact. To make a return or an exchange please get in touch with our Customer Experience team at email@example.com who will happily take you through the steps you need. Please note that unfortunately, we do not cover the shipping costs of the return or exchange. Here you can check out our returns and exchange policy.
.Returns or exchanges initiated after 14 business days from date of delivery will not be accepted.
. Hygiene stickers for all swimsuits MUST be in place for an item to be accepted as a return.
.All labels, hang tags, and packaging of the swimsuit must be returned in order to be refunded, or receive your exchange.
How do i make a return?
To initiate a return please contact our Customer Experience team via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
You’ll be given access to our returns portal where you can login and select the item(s) you’ll be returning.
You'll then be given the address of our warehouse where you will send the returned package, which is located in Houston, Texas. Please note that we do not cover the costs of return shipping for items that are to be returned for refund, or exchanged for another product or size.
Pack the returned items back into the original poly mailer. To do this simply tear off the used sticky strip and close the package with the second sticky strip.
Stick the shipping and address information onto the outside of the package.
It’s good to go baby! Pop the package in the mail and send it back to us.
Your refund will be issued once our team has deemed everything has been returned in its original condition. Please note, it can take our returns warehouse 1-3 business days to process any return items. Once a refund has been initiated, it can take up to 10 business days for the returned funds to be available on the payment method you used on checkout. This is dependent on the payment method you used on checkout, and your banks processing times.
